    Belarusian athlete safe in Tokyo as Poland and Czech offer visas

    “Poland is ready to help Kryscina Tsimanouskaya (…) She was offered a humanitarian visa and is free to pursue her sporting career in Poland if she so chooses,” wrote Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Marcin Przydacz.

    Belarusian sprinter Kryscina Tsimanouskaya has criticised the chaos in the team. In response, the authorities ordered her to pack up and took her to the airport against her will, where she was to return to the country immediately, even though she was yet to compete in the 200m run. The Belarusian woman refused and said she was afraid of going back, that she would go to jail. He is currently under the care of the Japanese. Czechs and Poles also offered help.
