Thanks to Wojciech Nowicki’s gold medal in the hammer throw and Paweł Fajdak’s bronze medal in the same event, as well as Patryk Dobek’s medal in the 800m run, Polish athletes have achieved the success of 10 medals at the Tokyo Olympics.
This achievement consists of three gold medals, three silver medals and four bronze medals – all in athletics. Representatives of this discipline have earned 60% of the Polish national team’s success.
Previously, we wrote about the silver medal won by Agnieszka Szkrzypulec and Jolanta Ogar in the 470 class of sailing.
The other two golds for Poland were won by Anita Włodarczyk in the hammer throw and the 4x400m mixed relay team. Silver medals were won by rowers in the double four and canoeists in K2 on 500m. Bronze medals were won by Malwina Kopron in the hammer throw and the classic style wrestler – Tadeusz Michalik.
Overall, at the Summer Olympics, athletes won 293 medals including 71 gold, 86 silver and 136 bronze.
