    Tour de Pologne: Joao Almeida won the second stage. Michał Kwiatkowski fourth in Przemyśl

    The second phase of 78. The Tour de Pologne did not disappoint. In the last kilometres, the situation changed now and then. In the very difficult uphill stretch leading to the finishing line in Przemyśl, the best was Joao Almeida. The Deceuninck-Quick Step rider thus became the main favourite in the race. He also became the new leader. For sure Michał Kwiatkowski (INEOS) will not give up, as he took fourth place with a small loss. Today, the longest stretch of this year’s edition, from Sanok to Rzeszów.

    On Monday, the 78th road from Lublin to Chełm began with a 200-kilometre-long section.  Tour de Pologne. German sprinter Phil Bauhaus (Bahrain-Victorious) proved to be the best at the finish leading up to the finish line, thus earning the leader’s yellow jersey. It was known that he should lose it just 24 hours later. 

     

    Tuesday’s stage was a bit over 200 km long and again led in the east-southern part of our country. The peloton, with 148 riders, started from Zamość. And immediately began trying to tie up the escape.

     

    The day before, one of the heroes of the day was Michał Paluta, who won the jersey of the best mountain biker. He tried his hand at it now, too, but in the end, another Polish representative, Patryk Stosz, who won this classification last year, ended up in the five-man group.
