After the unsuccessful EURO 2020 speculation began about the future of the current Polish national football team manager. The former Legia Warsaw coach, who recently led Sborna, has been mentioned as a possible successor to Paulo Sousa. Stanislav Cherchesov was present at Thursday's match between the Polish champions and Leicester City in the Europa League and had the opportunity to meet with new Polish Football Association president Cezary Kulesza. He was also asked if he would like to take over as a manager of the red-and-white team.
It's hard to investigate the future, we don't know what's going to happen. (...) If I feel good in Poland, like at home, then the answer is obvious! In life anything is possible, and in football, it's even possible.
Stanislav Cherchesov would like to replace Paulo Sousa: "I feel at home in Poland"
Stanislav Cherchesov was in Warsaw when Legia's meeting with Leicester in the Europa League. The Russian coach confirmed in an interview with the "Legia.net" portal that he would like to work with the Polish national football team in the future.
The Poles, led by Sousa, are fighting for participation in the World Championships in Qatar. In October the White Reds will face the teams of San Marino and Albania. Currently, our national team is in third place in the table, the winners of the groups will advance to the World Cup, the teams from the second place will take part in the play-offs. If the Portuguese coach advances with Poland to the World Cup, Cherchesov can only dream about working on the Vistula River, otherwise, the Russian's engagement seems possible.
