White and red flags to support the army and celebrate independence

“People fly flags to show their support to the military and at the same time to support our independence,” Tomasz Sakiewicz, editor-in-chief of “Gazeta Polska” and “Gazeta Polska Codziennie”, said in TVP Info, reminding about the #DumaiSzacunek campaign. As he pointed out, “nothing more valuable we achieved in the 20th century than a free, independent state”.

On November 11, Poles celebrate Independence Day. This is the time of national, patriotic celebrations, during which the attachment to the white and red colours prevails. The significance of this holiday was discussed on the eve of the holiday on TVP Info.

“Independence must always be fought for. It is not that independence is given once and for all. We must care for it every day as if it were our most precious possession. Without an independent state, there is no secure fate for families, no secure fate for us, no development. There is no question of preserving tradition,” emphasized the editor-in-chief of “Gazeta Polska” and “Gazeta Polska Codziennie”.

However, as Sakiewicz pointed out, “today the situation could be much worse”.

“We have a double attack – on the one hand, an attack from the huge mass of migrants from a completely different culture, and, on the other, a brazen Russian-Belarusian attack that threatens our independence, our border,” he said.

Sakiewicz also mentioned the action of the Niezalezna. pl website and “Gazeta Polska” – #DumaiSzacunek (#PrideandRespect). Flags were hung in Poland and abroad to thank the services for defending the borders. “People fly flags to show their support to the military and at the same time to support our independence,” Sakiewicz pointed out.
