The action, thanks to the Archpriest of St. Mary's Church, the Mayor of Krakow and the Małopolska Regional Commander of the State Fire Brigade, was organised by the Book Institute in Krakow together with the Wielkopolska Museum of Independence in Poznań. The insurgent flag was handed over by the Governor of Wielkopolskie Province Michał Zieliński.

The action was attended by the re-enactment group 'Jedność' from Jarocin - the town whereas early as on 9 November 1918 the first Soldiers' Council in Wielkopolska, headed by Ignacy Adamczewski, was announced and Poles took over the key places in the town. Major Stanislaw Taczak, the first commander of the Wielkopolska Uprising, also came from Mieszkow near Jarocin.

After the event, reconstructors dressed in 1919 Wielkopolska Army uniforms and with replicas of contemporary weapons distributed commemorative insurgent cockades.
