The National Museum of Technology reopened

“This is a significant and emblematic moment. After 5 years we are reopening the National Museum of Technology, so beloved by Poles” – said Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Culture and National Heritage, Professor Piotr Gliński during the ceremony of reopening the museum, combined with the presentation of two permanent exhibitions: “History of transport – by sea, land, and air” and “History of computers – it counts!”

The largest technical museum in Poland, saved from bankruptcy and liquidation thanks to the efforts of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, continues its mission and is once again open to the public.

The Minister of Culture and National Heritage pointed out that the seat of the National Museum of Technology in the Palace of Culture and Science needed serious renovation, therefore the Ministry of Science (today the Ministry of Education and Higher Education) and the City of Warsaw were invited to cooperate.

The National Museum of Technology in Warsaw was established on 9 June 2017 as a joint cultural institution of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage, the Minister of Science and Higher Education (now Ministry of Education and Science), and the City of Warsaw. The statutory activity of the institution is ensured by subsidies of PLN 2 million per year, provided by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage and the Ministry of Education and Science. The third organizer – the City of Warsaw – undertook to provide the conditions for renting the premises.

We welcome you to visit the renovated and revitalized museum starting Tuesday, February 1, 2022.
