    Book Fair in Warsaw

For the next two days continues the Book Fair at the Parade Square in Warsaw! It’s the 12th edition of the fair, for the first time organized solely by the History and Culture Foundation. This year’s honorary guest is Norway.

The fair started on Thursday the 26th at 10 A.M. Beside the biggest Polish publishers such as SQN, Świat Książki (Eng: The Book World), Poznańskie Publishing House or Albatros were second-hand and antique bookshops. There will also be author meetings,

There is also space for Ukrainian Publishers to promote their books: Bilka, Ukrainian Book Institute, ART (Aktyvny Rozvytok Talantiv), Ukrainian Institute of National Memory and the Ukrainian Publishers & Booksellers Association put up their stands at the Parade Square.

A special tent is put up for Norwegian publishing houses and authors who came to Poland from their country. Among the writers are Kjersti Anfinnsen, Marie Aubert, Bjørn Sortland, Malin Falch (fiction), Torbjørn Færøvik, Nina F. Grünfeld and Lene Ask (nonfiction) as well as a poet Aina Villanger. Other attractions are lectures about Norwegian history and writers awarded with the Noble Prize. There are also artistic workshops for children and speed language courses.

The Book Fair will be open on Saturday (May 28th) from 10 A.M. to 7 P.M. and on Sunday (May 29th) from 10 A.M. to 5 P.M. No tickets are needed as the entry is free, but due to rainy weather, you’ll most likely need an umbrella.
