The 11th edition of the “Clean Tatra Mountains” initiative has started today!

“Clean Tatra Mountains” initiative organized by the “Clean Poland” Association is a great educational campaign organized in Zakopane and the Tatra Mountains since 2012. So far, 35,150 volunteers took part in the 10 editions of the initiative and they carried 6,719 kg of rubbish from the mountains. The partners of the July event are, as every year, the Mayor of the City of Zakopane, the Tatra National Park, and the Polish Cableways. The main partner is Electrolux, and other supporting sponsors are the following companies: Rekopol, Jan Niezbędny, and Biedronka.

The campaign has started today on July 1 and it will last two days. There will be a chance to take part in ecological workshops, various competitions, and creative animations for children or to talk with the campaign ambassadors and influencers in Równia Krupowa in Zakopane. The joint cleaning of our largest mountains has become the starting point for drawing attention to the problem of pollution and spreading the idea of environmental protection. This year’s edition inaugurates the holiday season.

The “Clean Tatra Mountains” initiative has been organised every June for 11 years now by  the “Clean Poland” Association. This project is only one of the Association’s initiatives. They organise campaigns to clean the landscapes of Poland not only in the mountains but also at the seaside. From year to year,  the “Clean Tatra Mountains” initiative attracts more and more mountain lovers, who set out on the trails together to free them from waste. Joint cleaning of the Tatra Mountains is the culmination of the year-round efforts of the Tatra National Park and our Association, promoting respect for the environment and broadening environmental awareness. The results of the initiative are clear to see because every year there is less and less rubbish on the trails and the campaign has created a social phenomenon that engages more and more people sensitive to the beauty of nature.

At 6.00 p.m. the stage will be taken over by Marcin Daniec, and at 8.00 p.m. the Zakopower band will play.

On Saturday morning, according to the “Leave a good mark” motto of this year’s edition of the “Clean Tatra Mountains” campaign, thousands of volunteers will set off to clean the Tatra mountains trails. At 3 p.m. in the town on Górna Równia Krupowa, Eko MeetUp will begin, i.e. a meeting with well-known influencers.
