    ‘Weekend with the Army’ event – from 13 to 15 August, Poles celebrate the Polish Army Day and the 102nd anniversary of the Battle of Warsaw. For this weekend, the Ministry of National Defense and the Polish Army have planned numerous state, patriotic, religious, cultural and entertainment events in various towns and cities. The events will take place at local military units, squares, parks and streets.

    Several dozen military picnics throughout the country will be organised. There will be a chance to see the best aspects of the Polish Army, such as modern military equipment, military music, and even a famous pea soup. Also, the heroes of the day, soldiers of all types of Polish armed forces will participate in the events and talk about their work in the army.

    Moreover, there will be a possibility to start your career as a soldier at picnics and recruitment points. Soldiers will encourage you to join the new type of service – voluntary essential military service. Everyone will be able to check what the Polish Army offers and if he or she fulfills the conditions to join the ranks. The are many options and this special service can be undertaken in every corner of Poland in any faculty you choose.

    The event will also include singing soldiers’ songs together, watching movies, picnics, races, and many other sports activities including obstacle courses.
