Ukrainian forces have liberated Mazanivka, Dmytrivka and Dibrivne villages in the Izium direction

“Ukraine’s armed forces have seized the village of Dmytrivka in the Izium region in the east of the country,” regional government head Oleh Synyehubov announced today. In the tweet was added that many enemy vehicles and infantry were eliminated at the same time. “Currently, the armed forces are taking up convenient positions and have strengthened their positions,” we can read. Also, yesterday Oleksii Hromov, deputy chief of the main operational department of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, informed during the briefing at the Media Center Ukraine that Ukrainian forces had liberated two villages in eastern Ukraine in the last week.

“During the week, our troops improved their tactical position and advanced deep into the enemy’s defence lines outside the settlements of Mazanivka, Brashkivka, Sulyhivka and Dmytrivka. They liberated two settlements – Mazanivka and Dmytrivka,” he said. (ukrinform.net)

“Our defenders have liberated the village of Dmytrivka in the (district) of Izium region from the occupiers and are in complete control. In the process, they destroyed a lot of enemy equipment and infantry,” Synyehubov stated.

In a communiqué published on Telegram, the Governor of Kharkiv Oblast Oleh Synyehubov assured that the army also achieved “other successes” in the Kharkiv region. Ukrainian forces have strengthened positions in the Dmytrivka region.

Synyehubov also wrote about the failure of a Russian attempt to break Ukrainian defences in the Husarivka area, also located in the Izium region. “The enemy withdrew, suffering losses,” he added.

The situation around Izium was highlighted in a recent commentary by the US think tank Institute for the Study of War (ISW). It pointed out that Ukrainian forces have carried out a number of local counterattacks between Izium and Sloviansk. According to ISW, if Ukraine can push hard around Izium while simultaneously developing a counteroffensive in the south of the country, in the Kherson region, Russian forces will face very difficult choices – they will have to abandon their western advancing positions around Izium to protect their land lines of communication or redeploy more troops to the area from other areas of the front, which in turn will jeopardize their positions there.

    The liberation of Dibrivne

In the Kharkiv region, the Ukrainian military liberated the village of Dibrivne in the Izium direction and moved the front line. The Operational Command East reported this on Facebook, according to Ukrinform.

“Soldiers of the 93rd Kholodnyi Yar Separate Mechanized Brigade are confidently moving forward in the Izium direction. The brigade pushed back the enemy outside the village of Dibrivne and moved the front line,” we can read in the report. (ukrinform.net)
