“On Thursday (Aug 11), I visited the Luhansk People’s Republic where I met with the heads of the Luhansk People’s Republic (LPR), Leonid Pasichynk and the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), Denys Pushylin,” Medvedev wrote on Telegram today.

“On behalf of the Russian President, I held a meeting on priority measures to ensure the security of the Donbas republics,” he added.

The meeting was attended not only by the former Russian President Medvedev. There were Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation Igor Krasnov, First Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation Sergey Kiriyenko, Head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Vladimir Kolokoltsev, Head of the Ministry of Construction Irek Faizullin, Director of the FSB Aleksandr Bortnikov, and Head of the Investigative Committee Aleksandr Bastrykin.

According to Medvedev, the participants of the meeting put ‘particular emphasis’ on the “harmonization of the legislation of the LPR and DPR with the legislation of the Russian Federation.” Thanks to this, in these ‘Republics’ life would go back to normal, i.e., the authorities could prepare schools for the new school year, social problems might be solved, citizens might get support and they also could restore hospitals and infrastructure.

What is more, the former Russian President wrote that the head of the Investigative Committee had informed about the investigation of committed crimes by Ukrainian nationalists and the collection of the evidence.
