Volleyball Men’s World Championship: Three Poles with awards

The Polish national team won the silver medal at the FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Championship 2022, losing 1:3 to Italy in the final. Despite the defeat, three representatives of the white and red received individual awards. Bartosz Kurek became the Best Opposite, Mateusz Bieniek the Best Middle Blocker, and Kamil Semeniuk the Best Outside Hitter. Italy’s Simone Giannelli was voted MVP of the tournament.

When the white and red team was two sets away from their third consecutive gold medal, the Italians started to play a concert and deservedly took the next three games. The libero Fabio Balaso defended brilliantly, and Simone Giannelli surprised our block with his play. In the middle, Gianluca Galassi showed off his effectiveness. It was these three Italian representatives who were honoured with individual awards.
