The 7th edition of the programme “Go4Poland – Choose Poland!”

The 3rd edition of the Go4Poland Summer School took place on 1-7 September with 25 participants selected from among the programme’s participants. The intensive 7 days of workshops, expert presentations and discussion panels were the culmination of the 7th edition of the WSE Foundation’s programme “Go4Poland – Choose Poland!”

Each day was filled with substantive workshops on topics including the stock market and investing, energy markets, investment and pension funds, and economic diplomacy. A variety was provided by visits to the headquarters of project partners, during which participants had the opportunity to solve practical case studies. There was also soft skills development, such as workshops on team communication and personal branding. The Summer School concluded on Wednesday, 7 September in the WSE’s Quotation Room with a conference entitled “Your career – direction Poland!,” which featured panel discussions devoted, among other things, to turbulence in the global economy and new technologies in financial institutions. Traditionally, as part of the conference, participants of the Summer School also faced each other in an Oxford debate, during which they argued whether the changes to the work system caused by the pandemic would bring more benefits or harm in the long term.

Each year, around 100 new participants enrol in the “Go4Poland – choose Poland!” programme, bringing the total number of participants to nearly 800. The programme is aimed at Polish students and graduates of foreign universities, as well as the recipients of the General Władysław Anders Scholarship, run by the National Academic Exchange Agency. The programme aims to encourage students to return to Poland after completing their studies and start working in the country.

The programme enables the integration of young people through workshops, a Summer School and ‘networking,’ the improvement of competencies during internships and a unique opportunity for mentoring with leaders of the Polish financial market. In this year’s edition, as many as 16 excellent professionals took up the role of mentors. Special job and internship offers from programme partners are also available to participants. These are currently being pursued by 15 programme participants.

For the second time, the programme received the honorary patronage of the President of the Republic of Poland, Andrzej Duda.
