Dawid Kubacki, the Polish ski jumper won the gold medal at the 2023 European Games in Krakow on Saturday at the Wielka Krokiew ski jumping hill in Zakopane.
Kubacki’s victory was the result of his exceptional jumps, measuring 139 and 134.5 meters, which secured him the top spot on the podium.
Kubacki’s achievement places him in an exclusive group of ski jumpers who have won medals at the Olympic Games, World Championships, and Continental Games. The only other athlete to accomplish this feat is Kazuyoshi Funaki from Japan.
The individual men’s competition at the Wielka Krokiew hill marked the culmination of ski jumping events at the 2023 European Games Kraków-Małopolska. The athletes now have a three-week break from official competitions before heading to Courchevel, France, at the end of July for the first event of the Summer Grand Prix.
