In the coming days, the activity of the US air force over Poland will increase, ‘Rzeczpospolita’ reports today. We can expect dozens of allied aircraft at Polish airports and in the airspace, incl. F-16, or air tankers, possibly also fifth-generation F-35 A machines.
‘As part of the Astral Knight 20 exercise, a kind of anti-aircraft and anti-missile defence umbrella will be spread over key strategic objects of Poland, such as allied troops stationed on the eastern flank. The exercise will be carried out from September 17 to 25 at all military airports in Poland. These manoeuvres are compared by military specialists to exercises of US ground forces, which took place in the summer under the code name Defender-Europe 20,’ Rzeczpospolita reports.
According to Rzeczpospolita, it is known that a dozen or so USAF planes will take part in the computer-assisted manoeuvres. They arrived in Poland in August as part of the Aviation Detachment exercise. Polish machines will also participate in it, incl. F-16.
