Poland's uncompromising position. “The end of capitulation and objection to EU blackmail”

It is good that Prime Minister Mateusz Morawicki has clearly stated in the European Parliament that Poland will not give in to the unlawful actions of the European Union. This means the so-called end of capitulation and firm objection to the blackmailing of the EU mainstream – said political scientist Prof. Przemysław Żurawski vel Grajewski.

According to the scientist from the University of Łódź, the strong point of Tuesday’s speech of the Polish Prime Minister in the European Parliament was the strong and uncompromising position of our country on many issues. An important issue in the Prime Minister’s speech – as stressed by the professor – is also the conviction of the majority of member states that it is the EU institutions that break EU law against Poland, and not the other way round.

“Mateusz Morawicki has clearly communicated that Poland will not stand down in the face of the European Union’s unlawful, extra-treaty actions against us. He stated that this is the so-called end of capitulation and a signal that we will not allow ourselves to be blackmailed by the EU mainstream, i.e., the main political players, for example, the Germans and the French,” professor Żurawski vel Grajewski emphasized.

“The Prime Minister presented real, not imaginary, challenges facing the European Union. For example, the upcoming energy crisis will be strongly felt by the citizens of the so-called Old Union countries and will affect the electoral mood in many European countries,” he argued.

“This is done, contrary to the provisions of the Treaties, by appropriating integration competencies which – in the Treaties – the Member States of the Union have not granted,” he pointed out.

“The desire of the EU mainstream to deepen the scale of centralization of the Union by transferring member states’ competences to the central institutions, in view of the fact that this process was blocked in 2005 by referendums in France and the Netherlands, is now being implemented illegally by the EU institutions, which give themselves competences,” explained Żurawski vel Grajewski.
