NATO does not want to be a party to the conflict. It will not send its troops to Ukraine

“We are not sending out our planes because that would mean military interference in the conflict raging in Ukraine, and thus NATO’s involvement in the conflict”, said President Andrzej Duda on the issue of NATO’s handing over of fighter planes to Ukraine.

President Andrzej Duda and NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg met in Poland on Tuesday. At a press conference in the 32. The Tactical Air Force Base in Łask they were asked if NATO would hand over fighter planes to Ukraine.

“NATO stands in solidarity with Ukraine.” Jens Stoltenberg referred in this context to the sanctions against Russia.

Andrzej Duda gave a similar answer. “We are not sending our planes because that would mean military interference in the Ukraine conflict and NATO involvement in that conflict. NATO is not a party to this conflict”, he said.
