High-Level International Donors’ Conference in Warsaw. Polish PM: Int’l donors raise USD 6.5 bln for Ukraine

An international donors conference in Warsaw has raised USD 6.5 billion for Ukraine, Mateusz Morawiecki, the Polish prime minister, has said.

The conference, co-hosted by Morawiecki and his Swedish counterpart Magdalena Andersson, brought together several heads of government along with the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, and the president of the European Council, Charles Michel.

We have mobilised USD 6.5 billion, this is our obligation made today,” Morawiecki said during the High-Level International Donors’ Conference for Ukraine, which was held at the National Stadium in the Polish capital on Thursday.

We will do our best so that Ukrainians will receive these funds as soon as possible and in the most effective way,” he added.

“It is proof that our support for Ukraine has not been diminishing and that there are no egoists among us,” Morawiecki said.

“If egoism had won, this would mean Putin will win,” the Polish prime minister continued, adding that unity was needed to ensure victory.

Ukraine will achieve a victory, all of us will win if unity wins,” Morawiecki concluded.
