A framework agreement between the PGZ-WWR Consortium and the Armaments Agency for the supply of multi-lead rocket launchers system’s elements, which will be acquired for the Polish Armed Forces from the USA and South Korea was approved on Wednesday by Poland’s defence minister.
The agreement between the Armaments Agency and the PGZ-WWR consortium defines the terms and conditions for concluding executive contracts for the incorporation of elements produced in Poland, including vehicles and communications equipment, into the M142 HIMARS and K239 Chunmoo systems.

“We intend to strengthen the Polish Armed Forces quickly and effectively. The contract of the ordered launchers foresees to be partially manufactured in Poland – chassis components, reconnaissance vehicles, command vehicles and means of communication,” Mariusz Blaszczak said, adding that the systems to be imported from the USA and South Korea would be complemented by the Jelcz chassis to carry the HIMARS (High Mobility Artillery Rocket System) as well as reconnaissance vehicles, ammunition, communications equipment and unmanned aerial vehicles, all produced by Polish defence conglomerate PGZ.

“All these elements will create a unified construction in the form of artillery launcher systems that have proved themselves very well in the war in Ukraine,” he said. “We all know perfectly well that it is an extremely effective weapon. In the hands of the Ukrainians, it has enabled Russian attacks to be repelled.”
The defence minister added that the deal strengthened Poland’s armed forces.
“The first Chunmoo launchers, mounted on Jelcz trucks will be here next year so it is undoubtedly a very big achievement,” he said.
Poland ordered 20 HIMARS launchers from the United States in 2019 and recently sent a request for a quote for a further 500 launchers.
