World War II began 83 years ago. According to tradition, the morning anniversary commemoration on the Westerplatte began with the sound of alarm sirens, just before 4.45 am, because at this time on September 1, 1939, the German attack on the Polish Military Transit Depot took place. At the same time, today there were commemorations in Wieluń, the first Polish city to be bombed on September 1.
