Poland Urges EU to Impose Sanctions on Russian Food Imports

According to a statement made to Polish Press Agency on Saturday, Poland’s representative in Brussels has stated that Poland will be calling for sanctions on Russian food imports to the EU.

Poland’s representative in Brussels, Andrzej Sadoś, has declared that his country finds it unacceptable for Russian agricultural products to be imported into the EU under the guise of food security. As a result, Poland will push for sanctions against such imports.

Sadoś emphasized that the sanctions should be implemented without delay, particularly in light of the EU’s recent difficulties with Ukrainian grain.

The European Commission has thus far avoided imposing sanctions on Russian food imports to EU markets, citing concerns about potential risks to the global food supply chain.
