Poland’s Prime Minister, Mateusz Morawiecki, has recently criticized former European Council President Donald Tusk for his role in the 2015 migration crisis. Morawiecki contends that the Law and Justice (PiS) party’s victory in the parliamentary elections that year protected Poland from the adverse consequences of what he deemed “a disastrous migration policy.”
In a social media video, Prime Minister Morawiecki revisited the 2015 migration crisis, which he argued Europe struggled to manage effectively. He posed the question of responsibility for the mishandling of the situation.

Tusk’s Response
The video also featured a statement from Donald Tusk, in which he claimed to have organized the European Union’s efforts on migration daily. Tusk cited estimates from the UN Commissioner for Refugees, suggesting that between 60 million and 130 million potential refugees were seeking entry into Europe.
Prime Minister Morawiecki responded to Tusk’s statement by asserting that Europe continues to grapple with the dire consequences of the 2015 migration crisis. He directly criticized Tusk for failing in his duties at the time.
Morawiecki emphasized that PiS’s victory in the 2015 elections had safeguarded Poland from the repercussions of what he deemed a flawed migration policy. He urged unity to prevent Tusk’s return to power, emphasizing the need to maintain Poland as a secure place to live.
