Polish Central Bank Governor Optimistic about Accelerated GDP Growth in Q4

In a press conference held on Wednesday, Poland’s central bank governor, Adam Glapinski, expressed optimism about the country’s economic growth, stating that the annual GDP dynamics are expected to have continued accelerating in the fourth quarter of 2023.

Glapinski acknowledged the moderate nature of Poland’s economic growth but highlighted that the nation is experiencing a gradual economic recovery. Fortunately, Poland has managed to avoid a recession, according to the central bank governor.

Providing insights into the economic performance, Glapinski mentioned that following a decline in the first half of the previous year, the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) witnessed a 0.5 percent growth in annual terms during the third quarter of 2023.

Looking ahead, Glapinski stated, “We estimate that annual GDP growth continued to accelerate in the fourth quarter.” The governor’s positive outlook on the economic trajectory suggests potential improvements in Poland’s overall economic landscape.
