The dispute began when the US Senate made a negative ruling on a bill aimed at providing additional financial support to Ukraine, drawing swift criticism from Tusk. Taking to Twitter, Tusk expressed his disappointment, directly addressing Republican senators: “Ronald Reagan, who helped millions of us to win back our freedom and independence, must be turning in his grave today. Not one to stay silent, Jacek Kurski swiftly fired back, choosing to respond in English, perhaps to ensure his message reached a wider audience. “Ronald Reagan was a friend of Poland. Prime Minister, you are no Ronald Reagan,” Kurski retorted, emphasizing the stark contrast he perceived between Tusk’s actions and the legacy of the former US President.
