The Polish national football team is set to play two preparatory friendly matches at the PGE National Stadium in Warsaw before heading to the Euro 2024 championships, the Polish Football Association (PZPN) announced on Wednesday. The matches against Ukraine on June 7 and Turkey on June 10 will serve as the final tests for coach Michał Probierz’s squad before their campaign in Germany.
According to a statement from the PZPN, “We can officially confirm that both friendly games against Ukraine and Turkey will be held at the PGE National Stadium. This decision meets the needs outlined by coach Michał Probierz.” The federation also extended its gratitude to the authorities of the PGE National Stadium for their cooperation, which ensures optimal conditions for the team’s preparations.
Both games are scheduled to start at 20:45. Following these matches, the Polish team will travel to their base in Hanover, Germany, arriving on the afternoon of June 11. Their first training session on German soil is planned for the next day.
In the Euro 2024 tournament, which kicks off on June 14, Poland is placed in Group D and will face the Netherlands in Hamburg on June 16, Austria in Berlin five days later, and France in Dortmund on June 25. These matches will be crucial for the Polish team as they navigate a challenging group stage in their quest for European glory.
