Presidential Couple supports Caritas Poland’s campaign, providing backpacks filled with school supplies to students in need across Poland and beyond.
The Presidential Couple has once again joined the “Backpacks Full of Smiles” campaign, an initiative by Caritas Poland to support students nationwide. As the new school year approaches, the 16th edition of this campaign will provide 12,000 backpacks filled with school supplies to children in need across Poland for the 2024/2025 school year.
Support for Ukrainian Students
This year, the initiative extends its reach to Ukrainian children, with 2,000 backpacks prepared for those beginning their education in Polish schools due to the new educational mandate. The Presidential Couple, President Andrzej Duda and First Lady Agata Kornhauser-Duda, actively participated by donating colorful backpacks filled with stationery, art supplies, and notebooks.
A Longstanding Tradition of Assistance
Throughout the campaign’s history, over 220,000 backpacks have been distributed to students in Poland and abroad, including Belarus, Ukraine, and Lithuania. This year’s initiative also supports children from Polish families abroad and those in Burundi and Lebanon.
