24th Silesian Voivodeship Harvest Festival in Łękawica

Farmers have once again given thanks for the harvest, and in return, we express our gratitude for their hard work and dedication to tradition. The 24th Silesian Voivodeship Harvest Festival recently took place in the picturesque village of Łękawica in Żywiec County. This year’s event was a vibrant celebration, featuring a colorful parade, beautifully decorated agricultural machinery, traditional kołocz cake, singing, and music.

    Honoring Farmers’ Hard Work

The celebration began with a solemn Mass, held in gratitude for the farmers’ efforts, asking for blessings on their future work. After the bread, made from this year’s grain, was blessed, the community gathered for joyful festivities, marked by good food and merriment. Despite the challenging agricultural conditions in this mountainous region, the people of Łękawica came together to honor the tradition of giving thanks for the harvest.

The Silesian Voivodeship Harvest Festival, held for the 24th time, rotates annually among the municipalities of the Silesian Voivodeship. This tradition, organized under the patronage of the regional marshal and the Ministry of Agriculture, continues to bring communities together, emphasizing the importance of agriculture, even in regions where farming is tough.
