PZPN sets June 30 election for new president, optimizing planning for the upcoming season and compliance deadlines.
Election Date Confirmed
The Polish Football Association (PZPN) has scheduled its General Reporting and Electoral Assembly for June 30. During this meeting, delegates will elect the federation’s leadership for the next four-year term. The decision was finalized during a PZPN board meeting, with Secretary-General Łukasz Wachowski noting the strategic timing.
Strategic Timing and Benefits
Wachowski highlighted multiple reasons for choosing this date. Legally, sports federations must approve financial reports by June 30. Holding the assembly aligns with this requirement, ensuring operational efficiency. Additionally, scheduling the election in June provides ample time for administrative adjustments before international matches in September, unlike the 2021 transition that left little preparation time.
Candidate Selection Process
Current PZPN President Cezary Kulesza is anticipated to run for re-election. Official candidates will become known closer to the assembly, as nominations require formal endorsements from regional football associations or clubs, with submissions due 30 days before the vote.
