Discover why February 2025 could be the warmest in 30 years, with temperatures reaching 8°C and increased precipitation. Learn more about Poland’s unseasonably warm winter trends.

According to forecasts by the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management (IMGW), February 2025 is set to be the warmest in 30 years. Temperatures are expected to exceed the 1991-2020 average, with thermometers showing as high as 7°C in early February. Despite occasional cold spells, severe frosts are unlikely. The second half of the month could bring temperatures up to 8°C, making this February one of the warmest in recent decades.

Increased Precipitation on the Horizon

IMGW also predicts higher-than-usual precipitation, with totals surpassing the 1991-2020 average by several millimeters. Early February will feature cloudy skies with occasional rain or snow showers. The first weekend will see temperatures ranging from 2°C to 4°C, dropping to -3°C in mountainous regions. This trend follows an exceptionally warm January, with temperatures reaching 16°C earlier this week. However, strong winds are forecasted in southern Poland, prompting weather alerts.
