The Vice President of the European Commission for Technological Sovereignty, Security, and Democracy, Henna Virkkunen, has announced that the European Commission will soon organize a round table on the elections in Poland. This serves as further evidence that a “Romanian scenario” may be in preparation for Poland—meaning the annulment of election results should an “inconvenient” candidate win, ostensibly under the pretext of alleged foreign interference. The issue was commented on by former Minister of Education and Science, Przemysław Czarnek, on TV Republika.
They Want a “Round Table”
A journalist from Deutsche Welle recently posed the following question to Henna Virkkunen:
“In Poland, as in Romania and Germany, the far right is at the forefront of using VLOP [Very Large Online Platforms—referring to major social media platforms] mechanisms to promote its content and figures. Is the European Commission monitoring the Polish elections, or are there such plans?”
Virkkunen responded:
“We always work closely with national authorities during elections because electoral processes fall within national competencies, and member states have the best knowledge of what is happening on the ground. But indeed, we are preparing—together with them. Before elections, we always organize a round table and analyze various scenarios with national authorities, NGOs, and the platforms themselves, as they are also an important channel of communication for both citizens and politicians. They must not be misused or manipulated; they should have systems that prevent the spread of disinformation. We should also examine their recommendation systems and what content they promote. In Germany, before the elections, we conducted a ‘stress test.’ As far as I know, there were no reports of any manipulations or abuses.”
It is worth noting that Virkkunen is a politician from Finland’s National Coalition Party, which belongs to the European People’s Party—the same political group as Poland’s Civic Platform (PO).
Attempts to Meddle with Elections
Former Minister of Education and Science Przemysław Czarnek commented on these plans during his appearance on Telewizja Republika.
“Without a doubt, we are witnessing an unprecedented attempt by the EU elites to interfere in the internal elections of an EU member state. This means that both the EU elites and their allies, such as Donald Tusk and his party in Poland, are fully aware that Karol Nawrocki has a strong chance of winning. That is why they are attempting to create a situation where, just as in Romania, they could annul the election of Karol Nawrocki,”
said Czarnek.
According to Czarnek, if the Law and Justice (PiS) government had not carried out judicial reforms affecting the Supreme Court, there might have been no need to convene a “round table” because “the Supreme Court would have been at Donald Tusk’s beck and call.”
“Since the Supreme Court is no longer under Mr Tusk’s control, and Karol Nawrocki appears poised to win the election—especially after his programmatic conference last week—there is a need to convene a ‘round table,’ meaning an attempt to manipulate the elections before they even take place. This is characteristic—it is proof that Karol Nawrocki is an exceptionally strong candidate,”
he added.
A New Political Model…
According to Przemysław Czarnek, Poland is being used as a testing ground for a new political model. He argued that Donald Tusk’s government is implementing mechanisms aimed at establishing the complete dominance of Brussels elites and left-wing political circles.
“At the command of Brussels elites, leftist, and Marxist forces, Tusk is introducing an experimental system of liberal totalitarianism,”
Czarnek emphasized.
In his view, the current situation represents a test for Polish democracy, one that could have long-term consequences for all of Europe. “If this model succeeds in Poland, it will be replicated in other countries—from Germany to Spain,” he concluded.
