According to “Wprost,” the PiS congress, during which the party will elect its president, is scheduled to take place right after the presidential election. The first round of the presidential election is set for May 18, with a potential runoff on June 1.
At this point, the most likely scenario is that Jarosław Kaczyński will seek to remain at the helm of the party, and this decision will be confirmed at the congress. He has been the leader of PiS since January 18, 2003, meaning he has held the position for over 22 years.
Although Kaczyński initially suggested stepping down after PiS lost the parliamentary elections, in March of last year, he made it clear that he had changed his plans. He announced that he would run for another term as party leader in 2025 and would ask for re-election.
