President Duda Addresses Silent Tusk – Content of the Questions Revealed

The Chancellery of the President has today published the full text of a letter sent by President Andrzej Duda to Prime Minister Donald Tusk regarding the sudden passing of Barbara Skrzypek. The letter outlines seven specific questions.

Letter to Tusk

Yesterday, President Andrzej Duda announced that he had sent a letter to Donald Tusk requesting explanations regarding the questioning of Barbara Skrzypek, a close associate of the PiS chairman. According to the president, the entire matter “raises serious doubts” and is “extremely disturbing.”

Seven Questions

“Given the significance of this case for public opinion and citizens’ trust in state institutions, particularly the justice system in a broad sense, I call on the Prime Minister to ensure that the Minister of Justice and Prosecutor General provide the following clarifications,” the letter to Tusk states.

The letter presents the following seven questions:

  1. What were the reasons behind appointing Prosecutor Ewa Wrzosek as the lead investigator in the so-called ‘Two Towers’ case, and who made this decision? Was the National Prosecutor’s Office overseeing the proceedings?
  2. What was the justification for denying Barbara Skrzypek’s legal representative the right to be present during her questioning as a witness?
  3. Were other witnesses in this case also denied the presence of their legal representatives during questioning?
  4. How long did Barbara Skrzypek’s questioning last? Were there any breaks during the session? Was there any instance where a requested break was denied?
  5. Was the questioning recorded?
  6. Who prepared the official transcript of the questioning?
  7. Did Barbara Skrzypek read the transcript herself?
