Robert Kubica a Polish racing driver was until this week a test and reserve driver for the Williams F1 team. Kubica will race for Williams - one of the world's leading teams - in the 2019 season. It is a remarkable return to single-seater racing. On February 6th, 2011, Kubica was seriously injured in a crash at the Ronde di Andora rally, in which his car was penetrated by a road-side barrier and his right forearm was partially severed.

At St. John's Archcathedral in Warsaw a prayer action, “Prayer Without Borders for Independent Poland” began earlier this year. The project was started by the Schuman Institute and Schuman Groups from all over Poland. It will last for 100 months to commemorate the 100 years since Poland reclaimed independence.
The series of prayers started with a blessing by Cardinal Kazimierz Nycz at the Archcathedral Basilica of St. John the Baptist and was followed by the first Prayer Without Borders.
The “Wieliczka” Salt Mine, located in the town of Wieliczka in southern Poland, close to Cracow goes back to the 13th century. It was until recently one of the oldest salt mines in operation, producing table salt up until 2007. The mine is the product of the work of tens of generations of miners. The Polish Ambassador in Germany, Andrzej Przyłebski, has stirred up emotions following his participation in an international conference in Berlin titled ”A century of German Foreign Policy toward Poland 1918 to 2018” during which he stated that the Germans treated Poland with ugly arrogance for around 50 years during that century.
