The Genesis of International Archives Day
On International Archives Day, many Polish state archives organize Open Days, providing behind-the-scenes tours of their facilities, showcasing valuable exhibits, and offering glimpses into their digitization workshops. Exhibitions, films, and presentations are presented, including archival documents and memorabilia. Workshops on conservation, calligraphy, and genealogy research are also conducted.
International Archives Day serves as a platform to promote global archival resources and emphasize the mission and significance of archives in preserving collective memory.
