Maliszewska wins silver medal in short-track speed skating

Natalia Maliszewska finished second in the final of the 500m European Short Track Championships. In Gdansk, the best was the defending champion Dutchwoman Suzanne Schulting, and the third was Italian Arianna Valcepina. Nikola Mazur finished fifth.

This is the 27-year-old skater’s fourth medal over this distance at the European Championships. In 2019 in Dordrecht, the representative of Juvenia Białystok stood on the top step of the podium, three years ago in Debrecen on the third step, and in 2021 in Gdansk on the second step.

In contrast, no Pole managed to advance to the A final. Łukasz Kuczyński competed in the B final, while Diane Sellier was disqualified in the semi-final.

In addition, Sellier was fourth and Mazur seventh in the 1500-metre competition on Saturday.
