Margherita topped the list of Poland’s most popular pizzas in 2024, edging out Capricciosa by a slim margin, according to data from the PanParagon app. Both accounted for nearly 30% of all pizza orders, with Margherita slightly ahead at 29.5%. Capricciosa followed closely at 28.2%, featuring classic ingredients like mozzarella, ham, and mushrooms. Pizza Salami rounded out the top three with 12.3% of orders.
The Hawaiian Controversy
Despite its polarizing reputation, Hawaiian pizza secured the fourth spot with 9.7%, climbing one position since 2023. According to PanParagon spokesperson Antonina Grzelak, the sweet-and-savory combo is growing in popularity, even among traditionalists.
Other notable entries include Village (3.1%) and Farmer’s Pizza (2.9%), known for their hearty Polish-inspired toppings. Meanwhile, Vegetarian Pizza saw the biggest drop, falling from 6th to 10th place. Pepperoni and Funghi also lost ground, reflecting shifting consumer tastes.
Garlic Sauce Triumphs
When it comes to sauces, garlic remains the undisputed favorite, chosen in 11% of orders. Tomato sauce lagged far behind at 4%, though some pizzerias offer sauces as complimentary add-ons.
