In the latest election results announced by the National Electoral Commission at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Law and Justice (PiS) secured 36.39 percent of the votes for the lower house of the Polish parliament, the Sejm.
The Civic Coalition (KO), the main opposition party, claimed 29.71 percent of the votes, placing them in second position. The Third Way party secured the third spot with 14.48 percent of the votes, followed by the New Left with 8.41 percent.
The far-right Confederation rounded up the top five with 7.22 percent of the votes.
