    Poland Increases Child-Rearing Benefit to Boost Family Development

    Poland’s President signs law boosting child-rearing benefit to 800 PLN, highlighting family support and substantial increase.

    President of the Republic of Poland, Andrzej Duda, has signed a law on July 7, 2023, amending the Act on State Aid in Child Rearing. As of January 1, 2024, the child-rearing benefit will increase from 500 PLN to 800 PLN, without requiring an additional application.

    In a ceremony in Tarczyn, President Duda emphasized the significance of family as the cornerstone for social and demographic development, stating that families deserve special attention and support from the government.

    Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, Minister of Family and Social Policy Marlena Maląg, and Chief of the President’s Cabinet Paweł Szrot attended the event. President Duda highlighted that the “500 plus” benefit will now become “800 plus,” representing a substantial 60% increase.

    President Duda hailed the tangible rise in support for families raising children, expressing gratitude to the Prime Minister, government, and parliamentarians who supported the measure.
