In a thrilling conclusion to the World Tour event, Tour of Chongming Island, Daria Pikulik of Human Powered Health claimed the third spot in the overall standings. The season-ending race witnessed Pikulik’s impressive second-place finish in the final stage behind Italian rider Chiara Consonni of UAE Team, who ultimately clinched the victory. Thanks to a stage win bonus, Consonni secured the top position, edging out Dutch cyclist Mylene de Zoete (Ceratizit-WNT) by a mere 9 seconds and Pikulik by 10. The podium standings were separated by mere seconds, with de Zoete’s success in a sprint premia on the last stage allowing her to surpass Pikulik.

Pikulik’s season culminated with this performance, which began with her stage win at the Santos Tour Down Under in Australia. In 2023, she notched up five victories and frequently placed in the top three in sprint finishes. She also impressed at the European Track Championships, claiming bronze in the scratch race and silver in the omnium discipline.

Three other Polish cyclists participated in the Chinese event, with Marta Jaskulska (Liv Racing) finishing 28th, Marta Lach (Ceratizit-WNT) at 53rd, and Karolina Kumięga (UAE Team) at 62nd, all with a 24-second gap behind the winner.
