President Andrzej Duda celebrated the opening of the Museum and Scout Movement Center in Krakow, emphasizing the enduring relevance of scouting and its connection to nature.

President Andrzej Duda took part in the grand opening of the Museum and Scout Movement Center in Krakow, Poland. He praised the occasion as a significant milestone in the history of the scouting movement, emphasizing its enduring importance.

“In our country, it’s not easy for scouting, with its rich tradition, to seamlessly adapt to modernity. It’s a challenge to offer something that attracts young people today while also allowing us to convey the essence of scouting tradition: the spirit of nature’s love and a unique way of life in harmony with nature,” said Andrzej Duda.

He expressed confidence that this facility would help bridge this gap by showcasing that scouting is not just a 113-year-old tradition but a vibrant, contemporary movement ready to face the challenges of today.

Following the ceremony, President Duda awarded state honors to individuals who have made significant contributions to the scouting movement and the creation of the Museum and Scout Movement Center. The day concluded with a campfire event attended by the President, representatives of the Polish Scouting and Guiding Association (ZHP), and the Polish Scouting Association abroad (ZHR).

The Museum and Scout Movement Center promises to be a place where the rich history and values of scouting are preserved, celebrated, and shared with future generations, ensuring that scouting remains a living and evolving tradition in Poland.
