“TVN could have sued me, and requested a rectification. No…TVN first sued public television, Samuel Pereira, because he quoted what I had said. […] If Ms Senyszyn, who is known to have a sharp tongue, said that one of the MPs is stupid, and Samuel Pereira quoted it, he would be responsible for what Ms Senyszyn said,” said Tomasz Sakiewicz, editor-in-chief of Gazeta Polska during Sejm Culture and Media committee discussion.
On Tuesday, the Sejm Culture and Media Committee convened, at the request of a group of MPs, a meeting to “present information on the actions of some media entities (including the TVN station) aimed at restricting freedom of speech and intimidating journalists, by representatives of the Press Freedom Monitoring Centre and journalists – Gazeta Polska and TVP – harassed by lawsuits for daring to proclaim their own opinions on, inter alia, the TVN station” and “to present information by the Chairman of the National Broadcasting Council on the possibility of monitoring by the KRRiT of actions related to attempts to block the development of pluralism in Poland, carried out by media entities
