The 27th Provincial Bread Festival: A Celebration of Tradition in Bogdaniec

The 27th Provincial Bread Festival in Bogdaniec once again brought together music, local produce, and a delightful variety of bread. Held in the picturesque setting of the restored Zagroda Młyńska, the festival offered visitors the chance to sample and learn about different types of bread, from rye to wheat, wholemeal, and sourdough. The key was freshness and quality, enhanced by an array of delicious toppings.

    Revitalizing Cultural Heritage

Returning after a three-year hiatus due to renovations, the festival also served as an opportunity to showcase the beautifully restored Mill Farm Museum. Ewa Pawlak, Director of the J. Dekert Lubuskie Museum in Gorzów Wielkopolski, emphasized the importance of preserving and celebrating the region’s cultural heritage, as the event highlighted how Lubuszans cherish traditions and find joy in them.

The festival also featured an academic session as part of the Wooden Architecture Days, organized by the National Heritage Institute. This gathering underscored the region’s commitment to maintaining and nurturing its cultural legacy. Originally starting as a local event in the 1990s, the Bread Festival has since grown into a beloved tradition recognized throughout the Lubuskie region.
