Get ready for a trip down memory lane with the upcoming release of the documentary film ‘Naszość – only for the abnormal’ (Polish: “Naszość – tylko dla nienormalnych”) on TV Republika. This comedic yet chronicle-like production promises to be a hit for both rebellious viewers and those who have left their youthful rebellion behind.
The premiere is on May 12, at 8:00 p.m.
The film follows a group of Poznań residents in the 1990s who formed the “Alternative Action Naszość”. The group created happenings that mocked politicians and communist activists and organized protests against Putin’s criminal activities. Led by Piotr Lisiewicz, this intergenerational and ideologically diverse group also published a magazine with the same name as the film. The publication featured drawings and numerous poems created by its members. The group also published a poetry book entitled ‘Bat Guts’ (Polish: “Flaki z nietoperza”).
Their battles with the judicial system, police, and media become a story of the unknown taboos of that time. They also showcase the universal and anti-totalitarian power of laughter and human creativity. Magdalena Piejko directed and wrote the script for the film.
