Construction of the Baltic Pipe will start soon

Contractors are in agreement and the Baltic Pipe building permits collected. The project entered the executive phase, the government’s plenipotentiary for strategic energy infrastructure, Piotr Naimski reported.

“The Baltic Pipe, a key investment for Poland’s energy security and an important investment for the European Union, is being implemented exactly in accordance with the adopted schedule. Gas from the Norwegian Shelf will flow along a new route to Poland on October 1st, 2022. In June 2016, during the visit of President Andrzej Duda to Denmark, a conversation with Danish partners took place. Since that visit in Copenhagen, this project has taken real shape”, Naimski noted on Polskie Radio 24. He added that the contract signed by Gaz-System and Saipem, the contractor of the undersea part of the Baltic Pipe gas pipeline, means that the entire investment not only obtained all required building permits in both Denmark and Poland, but has already entered the implementation phase. “This contract completes 4 years of preparations for the construction of this gas pipeline”, he emphasized.
