14 Prison Releases, One Murder: Trump Says Democrats Have “Blood on Their Hands”

Donald Trump indirectly blamed the Democrats for the death of a 23-year-old Ukrainian woman. At the end of August in Charlotte, a mentally ill Black offender killed the woman. According to the U.S. president, the Democrats’ lenient policies toward criminals mean they “have blood on their hands.”

Twenty-three-year-old Iryna Zarucka was brutally murdered on August 22 on a subway train in Charlotte by a 34-year-old African American. Although the crime had taken place more than two weeks earlier, it became widely known because of a video recording showing the killer stabbing the woman seated in front of him.

“I have seen the horrific video of a beautiful, young Ukrainian refugee, who came to America to escape the vicious War in Ukraine, and was innocently riding the Metro in Charlotte, North Carolina, where she was brutally ambushed by a mentally deranged lunatic. The perpetrator was a well-known career criminal, who had been previously arrested and released on CASHLESS BAIL in January, a total of 14 TIMES,” Trump wrote on the social media platform Truth Social.

“What the hell was he doing riding the train and walking the streets? Criminals like this need to be LOCKED UP. The blood of this innocent woman can literally be seen dripping from the killer’s knife, and now her blood is on the hands of the Democrats who refuse to put bad people in jail, including Former Disgraced Governor and “Wannabe Senator” Roy Cooper,” he added.

According to local media, the murderer was homeless and suffered from schizophrenia. He had previously been detained 14 times, including for thefts, burglaries, and assaults. He was released from jail by local judge Teresa Stokes, who ordered him to write on a piece of paper that he promised to return for a court hearing at some point.

Ukraine demands a swift investigation

Trump’s post was his latest statement regarding the crime. On Monday, during a session of the Commission on Religious Freedom, the president said that the state must deal with bad people and added that the answer to horrible crimes should be “horrible actions.”

The same day, Andriy Yermak, the head of the Ukrainian president’s office, also commented on the case. “We are watching the investigation very closely and seriously. We believe it will be proper, swift, and, of course, we are offering all possible support from the Ukrainian side,” Yermak told The New York Post.

“I know that in the coming days, Ukraine’s new ambassador will be in Washington and will personally take part in this. That is precisely why President Trump has made so many efforts and spoken so often about the necessity of fighting crime,” Yermak added.
