As every year, football fans from across Poland gathered at Jasna Góra for the 17th Patriotic Pilgrimage. This year’s theme, “For You, Our Effort, Beloved Homeland”, reflects their commitment to Poland’s unity, development, and values. Participants also prayed for the nation’s heroes, the sick, and patriotic communities, emphasizing the role of faith in facing modern challenges.
A Day of Prayer and Blessings
The pilgrimage’s central event was a Mass in the Chapel of Our Lady at 12:30 PM, where fans brought their club colors and banners to be blessed. Karol Nawrocki, a presidential candidate, joined the faithful, highlighting his connection with patriotic values and faith. Many fans voiced their support for him, seeing him as a symbol of hope in today’s political landscape.
At 1:30 PM, attendees met with Karol Nawrocki, also the President of the Institute of National Remembrance, in the Father Kordecki Hall. The event concluded with a symbolic evening “torchlight ceremony,” where fans sang the national anthem, emphasizing their unwavering patriotism.
