‘ML System company has created a device that detects coronavirus from breath in less than 10 seconds. The discovery of this device is today the great pride of the entire Republic of Poland,’ said President Andrzej Duda yesterday (11 Feb 2021) in Zaczernie. ‘A revolution in the fight against coronavirus is taking place in front of our eyes. We believe that our device for the detection of coronavirus from the breath will have mass application and will allow defeating quickly the epidemic’ – said the President of the company ML System Dawid Cycoń.
Yesterday, President visited the head office of ML System, a manufacturer and distributor of photovoltaic panels.
‘Today we are going to present the company’s latest product, the remarkable one, especially in these very difficult times when we are affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Ladies and gentlemen, this is a device that detects COVID-19 from breath and also from various other substances in less than 10 seconds,’ he informed.
Duda expressed the hope that the device would not only prevent many coronavirus infections and save many people from infection but most importantly make life easier for societies around the world.
‘The discovery of this device here, in a company near Rzeszów (…) is today a great pride not only for Podkarpacie, but also for the entire Republic of Poland, and also for me. I believe that soon after the clinical trials, which will begin in the upcoming days, the device will be able to go into mass production and – I hope – it will make the company famous all over the world, because it is something that, as far as I know, no one has created and presented yet’ – said the President.
At a joint conference with the President, Cycoń said that the ML System company had developed a device capable of detecting coronavirus.
‘We are after preliminary tests, we have obtained the consent of the medical bioethics committee to proceed to the phase of testing on ready swabs, we expect results very soon in terms of sensitivity and detectability of the device’ – said the President of ML System.
He expressed hope that the device would be massively used in workplaces, airports or border crossings. He emphasized that the device would not require specialized maintenance.
‘This device is designed to diagnose the virus everywhere. I believe that after the implementation of mass production we will defeat the virus very quickly, not only on the scale of our region but also on the scale of the whole world’ – said Cycoń.
President, who took a test at the company’s lab on the device and tested negative, reported that ‘it works in a way similar to a police breathalyzer’.
‘You simply take this device, blow into this hole, and literally after a few seconds the result appears on the screen, whether this test is positive or negative, that is, whether someone exhales coronavirus or not,’ he explained. As he admitted, ‘it is indeed incredibly impressive’.
President pointed out that despite the negative test result for COVID-19, everyone present at the presentation is wearing masks because ML System’s device is ‘not yet cleared for operation’ and so the test results are ‘unofficial’.
‘But, ladies and gentlemen, this is a real revolution, and once again I want to express my great joy that it is happening today in Poland and it is from Poland,’ said Andrzej Duda.
