    Creative holidays with art

Classes with the use of different painting techniques such as acrylic paints, watercolours, pastels are offered by the Outdoor Summer School, which starts on Thursday afternoon in Stalowa Wola within the framework of the Drawing and Painting School ‘Karpiński’.

As Marzena Kościółek-Tofil from the Regional Museum in Stalowa Wola, the organiser of the Outdoor Summer School, informed, in the program of classes there were seven meetings “in the beautiful surrounding of nature and history”.

“Participating in the Outdoor Summer School is the perfect way to have a creative and relaxing holiday,” said Kościółek-Tofil.

Classes will take place in the garden of the Regional Museum and the garden in Charzewice, recesses of Rozwadów (current district of Stalowa Wola), and also in the surroundings of the first in the country Painting Gallery of Alfons Karpiński, situated in the antique building of the former district court in Rozwadów, where worked the father of the artist, who was a district judge.

“It’s an opportunity to feel like a true master of the pencil and brush while surrounded by extraordinary nature. It will also be an opportunity to meet people with similar interests and passions” – encouraged Marzena Kościółek-Tofil.

She added that the participants of the School would have the opportunity to learn many painting techniques, including the use of acrylic paints, watercolours, pastels, and among others, learn and know what an architectural detail, a plant study or a veduta is.

The program will include valour and colour contrasts using leaves, flowers and trees as examples; issues of perspective in painting and light and shadow in a work of art; or artist’s interpretation of a summer landscape.

Classes will be led by Magdalena Antonowicz, a graduate of the Institute of Artistic Education at Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin, with years of experience in teaching art and a diploma in pedagogical therapy and art therapy.
