The Summer Film Academy is about to start. There are 150 films to be presented

150 films will be available to viewers of the 22nd Summer Film Academy in Zwierzyniec (Lubelskie), which will start on Sunday. Meetings with filmmakers and concerts are also planned. Traditionally, there will also be a film speakers’ competition.

“We are turning a city with only one cinema into the film capital of Roztocze and Eastern Poland. After last year’s difficult pandemic and the so-called hybrid edition of the event, we are pleased to invite you to live meetings again. There will be good film titles and recognized filmmakers,” announced Agnieszka Krawiec from the Academy’s promotion office.

The Summer Film Academy will take place from August 8 to 15 in Zwierzyniec in the Roztocze district. Viewers will be able to see 150 films, including 40 pre-premieres. Academy will officially start with the premiere of the film, dir. Aleksander Pietrzak “Black Sheep”. The film is a story of a family in which everything seems to be just as it should. In the end, the film “Evil Doesn’t Exist” is planned. Last year, this Czech-Iranian-German production received a Golden Bear for the best film at the Berlinale. Director Mohammad Rasoulof shows four stories that are variations on morality and the death penalty, individual freedom in a despotic regime.
